Summer is here and it is more scorching than ever. It is at this time of the year when some of us don’t fancy going to the gym as it gets all humid and stuffy. Well guess what? You can skip the gym and still get an effective total body workout done.
Forget those treadmills, grab your weights, mats and bottles and go hustle in the nature instead.
Here are 5 exercises that you can do outdoors instead of hitting the gym:
- 20 jumping jacks – start by standing with your feet together. In one motion, jump with your feet outside and arms up. Repeat these 20 times.
- 15 pushups –kneeling or complete pushups depending on your arm strength
- 20 sumo squats – stand with your feet wider than your shoulder width with your toes slightly turned out. Hold your dumbbells in each hand in front of your hips. Push your hips back and squat down keeping your knees out and chest out. Then bring your dumbbells down to the floor in between your legs. Rise back up and repeat.
- 15 burpees – start with a jump, then squat down, place your hands on the mat and jump into a plank position. Jump your feet back towards your arms and jump into a standing position. Repeat all over again.
- 20 mountain climbers – Start with a plank position and alternatively bring your knees towards your chest while keeping your back straight and hips parallel to the ground.
Exercising outdoors not only saves you from a stuffy workout session but also improves your energy levels and decreases stress to a greater extent than working out indoors.
