Mr Chandrasekhar Reddy is a well known person in the fitness industry for 26 years. He is one of the most experienced and qualified trainers in the city. He is a national level bodybuilder who was declared as the best personal trainer In India for the years 2004-2005 and 2015-2016. He is also the founder of the Helios fitness centre, one of the top gyms in Hyderabad and runs Helios academy which provides international personal training courses for aspiring trainers in the city.
1) What workouts do you enjoy?
I find all workouts enjoyable but strength Training (Olympic weights, outdoor boot camp) and core training are the best ones.
2) How do you develop rapport with a client?
By maintaining a professional relationship with the client and by understanding them and their requirements.
3) How do you keep your clients motivated?
The most important task of a trainer is to keep the clients motivated. I keep my clients motivated by introducing variety of workouts and by making them realise what they’re capable of if they put in effort.
4) Do you have any useful tips to lose that belly fat?
There is no spot reduction in exercise science, one only loses fat from the entire body and that’s only possible through exercises (both strength and cardio) and a healthy diet.
5) What is your definition of a successful workout session?
A good workout session gives you a satisfactory feeling. You know you’ve put in your maximum effort and this just makes you feel better about yourself.
6) 5 cardio exercises you’d recommend any customer of yours and why?
Generally I recommend workouts depending on what the client likes, their movement restrictions, experience in workouts etc , but for anyone and everyone I would recommend them to do cross training as it’s the safest and most effective exercise.
Rowing (good for full body), walking or running, HIIT ( can be done by weights and can achieve both cardio and strength training benefits) and circuit training (can be done without any equipment also ).
7) How do you ensure that a fitness program is effective?
There are many modalities to take into consideration as a trainer to make a program effective. Personal training means designing a perfect program which suits a clients individuality and his/her goals. Every individual is different and they have different strengths and weaknesses, health and physical issues, type of muscle fiber they have , genetics , work schedule , dietary habits , kind of workouts they like and dislike , mental and emotional state etc.
8) What makes you a good personal trainer?
I have a lot of knowledge about this field. I have an been doing this for 26 years so I can say that I’m well experienced too.
9)What do you like about your job?
The best thing about my job is that it never gets boring. I meet new people and face new challenges every single day. I like helping them achieve their goals and their happiness after seeing the results makes me feel proud.
10)What is one good advice you’d like to give someone who wants to be fit?
Fitness has a different meaning for different people.No matter what your goal is, try to achieve the best results naturally. Do not be hasty to see a difference and consume fat burning supplements or steroids . Consult a certified professional and choose a program which suits you and be consistent with your workouts and diet . Finally, set short term goals and give your ultimate best to achieve them.
