Mango season is here and everyone is eagerly waiting for the perfect ripe ones. Mango is one of the most popular seasonal fruits in India.
Mangoes are so delicious that people tend to forget about their health benefits. Not only are they absolutely mouthwatering, they are also very rich in nutrients.

Mango consists of carotenoids, ascorbic acid and polyphenols which help in preventing cancer. Polyphenol present in mango pulp has shown to reduce the risk of colon cancer and breast cancer. The anticancer properties are also due to the presence of mangiferin which helps to inhibit growth of colon and breast cancer cells.

B-carotene is a photoreceptive agent which protects the skin from the harmful ultraviolet rays. Beta-carotene also provides nourishment to hair and prevents dandruff. The vitamin C in mangoes provides collagen to the hair and thus makes them look healthier.
