Not everyone is a morning person, in fact many of us hate the idea of getting out of bed before 9 am. If I got a dollar for every time I snoozed my morning alarms I’d be a millionaire by now. Morning workouts are a tough habit to get into but very beneficial. It jump-starts your metabolism and keeps you very energetic throughout the day. Here are  a few ways to motivate  yourself to wake up early in the morning and get your workouts done.

 1) Prep the night before

Pick out your outfit gear, shoes and necessary equipment the night before so you don’t waste time the next morning searching for your socks or pants.

2) Set goals

Make a list of things you want to accomplish within a set period of time. It is best to make weekly goals as they can be quite motivating. Every Sunday create your workout schedule for the entire week.

3) Keep the alarm at a distance

Setting an alarm? Very easy to do. But not hitting the snooze button? Now that’s practically impossible. Keep your alarm clock or mobile at the other side of the room and never beside your bed. That way you’d have to walk all the way to hit the snooze button and hence successfully

4) Splash your face and drink water

Sometimes no matter how hard you try it becomes very difficult to keep your eyes open. To freshen up splash your face with cold water and drink a glass of water.

5) Give yourself a pep talk

Look at yourself in the mirror and remind yourself why you have to sacrifice your sleep and engage in physical activity. Remind yourself how good you’ll feel about yourself after the workout and how amazing your body will look if you keep this up.

6) Find a workout buddy

Two is always better than one. Ask a family member or any friend of yours to accompany you to your workout sessions. A partner helps you push yourself and stay motivated. You don’t feel like skipping a workout when you know your partner is waiting for you.

 7) Prepare a good playlist

Music makes everything more fun. Energizing music can heighten your performance keep your energy up. Change your workout playlist every week to keep yourself motivated.

8) Look forward for a good breakfast

Eat something light like banana, almonds or eggs before your workout. After cooling down prepare yourself a good, nutritious breakfast as a special reward for your hard work.

 9) Reward yourself

Mental motivation is extremely important to continue your routine and not give up. After you achieve your weekly goals make sure you reward yourself for the efforts you’ve put in. The rewards can be in the form of a small treat like a slice of cake, a piece of clothing etc.

10) Go to bed early

The key to wake up early is to go to bed on time. Sufficient hours of good quality sleep relieves your exhaustion and it becomes easier to get up and hustle the next morning.
